Manager of Treasury Settlements

Our client is a large European private bank
Job Description:
Day to Day Processing – capture transactions (Japanese & foreign ABS bonds, including related funding) onto internal booking systems; produce pre-advice on the settlements of proceeds after confirming with the counterparties; book arrangement fees onto the front and back office systems
Day to Day Reconciliation – reconcile and monitor the Nostro accounts for cash movements originated from the settlement of on-shore and off-shore trades, such as coupons, redemption, arrangements fees; perform monthly reconciliation of securities outstanding of our own holding and on behalf of customers (safe kept)
Day to Day Maintenance – process and administer the account opening and maintaining customer accounts in I-Star, under proper control in terms of the customers’ asset segregation on an ongoing basis; obtain and keep sufficient records for customer identification, paying proper attention to the local regulatory requirements; maintain Nostro accounts used for securities transactions
General Requirements:
Proven track record of strong leadership and management skills
Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the entire Securitization process (role of arranger, administrator, Trustee, Originator etc), Securities processing, treasury products (FX & MM, OTC Derivatives, including Credit Derivatives), Structured Transactions and Custodial Processes (Safe Keeping of Clients Securities) is essential: Covering the entire processing cycle from trade capture, confirmations, settlements and ongoing monitoring
Ability to understand complex transactions and provide efficient processing solutions
Good understanding of Regulatory and compliance Reporting (FSA, MOF, BOJ, JASDEC)
Fully conversant in Anti-money laundering regulations i.e., Know Your Customer/Customer Due Diligence checks – re Account opening
Very good understanding of Funds transfer processes
Good knowledge of Securities clearing processes and systems e.g., Clearstrea, Euro Clear etc.
Strong customer focus (internal and external clients)
Strong team player, proactive, assertive with drive and confidence to work on own initiative with the ability to multi-task in an environment of increasing product diversity and trade volumes
Embrace ambiguity and complexity
Strong control/cost awareness
Knowledge of back office (I-STAR, BOJ, JASDEC) and Front Office systems (Atlas) preferable, but not essential
High level of competence in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
Strong interpersonal skills, assertive and persuasive with the ability to interact with staff at all levels (Clerical to MD)
Solid academic record with at least 5 years in a similar position
Language Requirements:
English Level – fluent (Excellent skills are essential in both written and verbal)
Japanese Level - native
