Ticker Plany is seeking a software engineer to create software for a high performance financial information database within the UNIX environment that processes market data feeds from all over the world.
The job requires excellent computer science and programming fundamentals, the ability to appreciate and create abstraction, a strong problem solving facility and the desire to work closely with a team.
It also demands sharing responsibility for the success of a large, long lived system, both short and long term.
The successful applicant will, among other things add new feeds and enrich data content while enhancing the database infrastructure, in order to cretae a higher performance and more capable system.
The candidate must be highly skilled with C++ or C in UNIX and have experience with at least one other programming language.
Knowledge of object orientated and multi-threaded programming is required, as well as the desire and ability to learn systems programming.
The candidate must be proficient with spoken and written English and be able to fit well with a team.
Experience with systems programming, database programming, object oriented design and market data modeling/ handling are pluses.
